Job Summary:

The Lead – Packaging will oversee the end-to-end packaging operations for PET, BOPET, and related polymer-based products. The role involves managing production lines, ensuring product quality, optimizing resources, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the packaging division. The incumbent will lead a team to achieve operational excellence, maintain compliance, and support business growth aligned with company objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Packaging Operations Management

  • Lead and supervise packaging lines for PET, BOPET, and related film products.

  • Ensure smooth execution of daily production plans and adherence to quality and safety standards.

  • Monitor machine performance, material utilization, and manpower allocation.

  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and supply chain teams to minimize downtime and delays.

2. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure packaging materials and finished goods meet customer and regulatory specifications.

  • Implement and monitor in-process checks, visual inspections, and testing protocols.

  • Liaise with QA and R&D for new product trials, packaging validation, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations.

3. Process Optimization & Improvement

  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Optimize packaging line efficiency, reduce wastage, and enhance productivity.

4. People Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and motivate packaging line staff and shift operators.

  • Develop skill matrices and training programs to enhance team capabilities.

  • Foster a safe, disciplined, and performance-oriented work environment.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate production logs, packaging records, and machine maintenance data.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP, GMP, and safety standards.

  • Support customer audits, certifications, and internal quality audits.

6. Coordination & Reporting

  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and planning teams for material availability and dispatches.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports on production, yield, and efficiency.

  • Present operational insights and recommendations to senior management.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Polymer, Industrial, or Packaging Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Experience: 5–10 years in packaging operations within PET, BOPET, or film manufacturing industries (Novatex, Gatron, or similar).

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • In-depth understanding of PET/BOPET film packaging processes.

    • Hands-on experience with slitting, lamination, winding, and packaging machinery.

    • Strong command of material properties, packaging standards, and process control.
