Role Overview
The Lead Procurement is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven sourcing of goods and services. The role focuses on supplier management, strategic sourcing, cost optimization, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Execution

Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.

Manage end-to-end procurement cycle including RFQs, negotiations, contracting, and purchase orders.
Supplier Management

Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors.

Lead supplier negotiations to secure best commercial terms.

Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure SLA compliance.

Drive supplier consolidation and long-term partnership development.
Cost Optimization & Budget Control

Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead value engineering initiatives.

Ensure procurement activities are aligned with approved budgets.

Track savings, cost avoidance, and procurement KPIs.
Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to procurement policies, approval matrices, and ethical standards.

Maintain documentation for audits, contracts, and compliance reviews.

Manage risk related to supply continuity, pricing volatility, and vendor dependency.
Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with Supply Chain, Planning, Finance, Production, and Quality teams.

Translate business requirements into effective sourcing strategies.

Support cross-functional projects and operational excellence initiatives.
Systems & Reporting

Utilize ERP systems (SAP preferred) for procurement transactions and reporting.

Prepare procurement dashboards, spend analysis, and management reports.

Support continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making.
Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team members.

Set performance objectives and ensure capability development within the team.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.

Master’s degree or professional certification (CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.

7–10 years of progressive experience in Procurement or Supply Chain, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.

Strong experience in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract management.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
