Position Summary

The position is responsible to manage and ensure that the production operations of flakes washing line facility during rotational shifts are running smoothly and efficiently at optimum levels to produce products which meet the set standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Take charge from the outgoing shift in-charge/ shift engineer to get complete information related to the plant’s activities taking place during the previous shift.
    • Monitor the scheduled/unscheduled changeover procedures to ensure that SOPs are being followed.
    • Visit the flakes washing line facility to check for any problems within the process, production or for any abnormalities within the equipment.  
    • Delegate tasks to the shift associates (technicians and operators) and oversee their performance. Moreover, take charge of all aspects of operations during their assigned shift.
    • Record and keep a logbook of the work completed/in-progress during the assigned shift. Moreover, note the process parameter readings in each shift.
    • Provide direction to on shift operations associates with regards to facility objectives and key strategies.
    • Create manual order for the unplanned production by selecting the production version as per their plan/requirement.
    • Convert the planned order into production order (single or multiple planned orders), when required. Furthermore, check and change the plan if the production version is not as per the plan. Release the production order for the shop floor for execution.
    • Check the material availability and create material reservation if the stock is not available. Furthermore, stage the materials against the production order and attach the documents from DMS as well as enter details in the instruction sheets, if required.
    • Release the manual production order, for handling off-specs process.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Zero no. of complaints regarding batch preparation
  • Waste production should not exceed a certain % limit of total production
  • No.  of mechanical, electrical or process faults timely resolved

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university
